#TravelFactsWithoutWikipedia: What People Think About Certain Countries

Jan 18, 2012

SOPA makes us want to do two things: 1. Throw a plate on the floor and yell, “SOPA!” and 2. Think of all the things people wouldn’t know without Wikipedia as a crutch. Specifically, what would people think about myths about different countries. So (pa) we came up with a short list of #TravelFactsWithoutWikipedia for your amusement.

  1. Cuba is the heart of democracy – House of Travel Agent, Jorge.
  2. If you’re in Haiti, you can be turned into a zombie – House of Travel Agent, Cynthia.
  3. Ecuadorians have smaller heads compared to their bodies – House of Travel Cruise Specialist, Julio.
  4. Colombians live in trees – House of Travel Office Manager, Maureen.
  5. Gary, in charge of quality control at House of Travel, is the hottest thing to come out of Jamaica (according to Gary, this “fact” is actually true) – House of Travel Director of Quality Control, Gary.
  6. Venezuelans are stuck up and rarely undergo plastic surgery – House of Travel Meetings and Incentives Manager, Carmen.

Obviously, these statements should also fall under #ThisIsSoUntrueDespiteNotHavingWikipediaToConfirm. If you have one to add, PIPA up!
